NDMS Exercise

September 2013- The MHPC participated in the planning and execution of the National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) exercise. In this exercise, patients and their “service” animals were transferred from an Air National Guard C-130, through the MHPC’s triage area, and into either Carolina’s MED-1 or the hangar for further assessment, treatment, and transport.

Chiller at CVMC

August 2011- During one of the hottest weeks of the year, the chiller at Catawba Valley Medical Center stopped working. Utilizing some of the resources of the MHPC, namely the portable HVAC units, they were able to cool the integral parts of their hospital until the chiller could be repaired.
