Rethinking Rural Healthcare – Carolinas HealthCare System Anson
In July 2014, Carolinas HealthCare System opened an innovative new facility in Wadesboro, NC (Anson County). This $20 million hospital provides an emergency department, 15 inpatient beds, radiology, laboratory, pharmacy, and surgery. The most important aspect is the integrated Patient Centered Medical Home. The goals are to improve health by increasing access to primary care services as well as decrease costs. This can be extremely challenging in rural communities. Read for more information.
