ICS Courses with Mecklenburg County Health Department
For two weeks in April, MHPC staff member Travis Cryan, was able to take his teaching experience and help a regional partner in need. Working with CPCC, Travis was able to bring two ICS 300 courses and one ICS 400 course to the Mecklenburg County Health Department’s leadership as a part of efforts to improve the depth of their incident management team. Using a hybrid format for reviewing the previous ICS training and hands-on activities in class, Travis was able to maximize participation and engagement, while keeping the course focused on a Public Health specific incident. Overall, fifty-two people successfully completed the ICS 300 course, while thirty-six people successfully completed the ICS 400 course. Way to go Mecklenburg County Health Department!
