MHPC Participates in Full-Scale Exercise with Cabarrus Health Alliance

MHPC participated in the Cabarrus Health Alliance’s full-scale exercise testing a drive-thru POD on Friday, February 10th. Staff provided assistance with the exercise as evaluators and were responsible for critiquing different elements of the exercise. Prior to the exercise beginning, staff were given a safety briefing and brief introduction to their command staff.

Following the briefing, the exercise began with nearly 100 vehicles going through a service line to be triaged, medically screened, and given medications based on their medical history.

In the middle of the exercise, staff participated in a shift change, which can often be the most difficult part of the exercise. Exercise participants were able to switch staffing with no trouble and were able to maintain the exercise through the end.

MHPC staff evaluated Cabarrus Health Alliance’s communication with the public about the event, their ability to work with and communicate with local agencies, staffing, and establishing and maintaining an EOC.
