The MHPC Deploys Assets and Personnel in Support of Carolina Rebellion

May is always a busy month for the Coalition, with the month beginning and ending with regional events.  During the weekend of May 5-7, MHPC supported CHS-Northeast Events Medicine and Cabarrus County EMS by providing logistical and medical assistance during the Carolina Rebellion concert event in Cabarrus County.

In addition to personnel, MHPC deployed two MSU trailers as well as various pieces of medical equipment to provide additional resources at the medical tents.  This event was notable in that it marked the first time that the 53’ M8 trailer was deployed as a logistics base, allowing the team to assemble medical resupply packages from within a temperature controlled environment.  Our neighbors to the north, the Triad Healthcare Preparedness Coalition, generously provided us with two Utility Task Vehicles with which to deliver personnel and equipment throughout the grounds.

Turnout for the weekend was high.  In total, 2003 patient contacts were made including 153 treatments generating reports and 23 patients transported by EMS.  Over 1,000 basic medical supplies were utilized during patient care throughout the weekend.

This event requires a significant amount of cooperation and teamwork among our partners and volunteers. Without them, this mission would not have been so successful.
